Overview​

Quiz Generator for Google Forms ("the Add-on") is a Google Forms add-on that helps you create quiz questions from AI prompts, images, or PDFs and inserts those questions into the currently open Google Form at your direction. We aim to access the minimum data necessary to provide this functionality.

We do not sell user data. We do not run ads. We do not use Google user data for training generalized AI/ML models.

Google User Data We Access​

The Add-on requests the following Google OAuth scopes and accesses only the data described below:

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/forms.currentonly

    • Purpose: Create and update questions in the active Google Form that you have opened. We only read basic form metadata (title) and the structure needed to insert questions. We do not read or access Form responses.

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.container.ui

    • Purpose: Display the add-on user interface (sidebar and dialogs) inside Google Forms so you can trigger quiz generation and settings.

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.external_request

    • Purpose: Make secure HTTPS requests to third-party APIs strictly to generate quiz questions (OpenAI API) and to verify license keys (our license verification endpoint). No Google account information or Form responses are sent. Only the content you choose to provide (e.g., your typed topic, selected image, or selected PDF) is sent to the AI provider for processing.

We do not request access to Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, or any other Google products. We do not access or store Google Form responses.

Data You Provide and Processed Content​

  • AI Prompt Text: If you type a prompt, that text is sent to the AI provider to generate questions.
  • Images/PDFs You Upload: If you choose to generate from an image or PDF, the file content is sent to the AI provider to extract or generate questions. Files are transmitted over HTTPS.
  • Generated Quiz Content: The generated questions are inserted into the currently open Google Form. We do not export or store this content on our servers.

Data Storage and Retention​

  • We do not operate a database that stores your Google user data or quiz content.
  • Your OpenAI API key (if you choose to use your own) and license status are stored in Google Apps Script UserProperties associated with your Google account and are only accessible to you and the Add-on when you are using it.
  • We do not store Google Form questions, files, or responses on our servers.
  • Network calls to the AI provider and license verification service are made over HTTPS. We retain no server-side logs that contain Google user data.

Information Sharing and Disclosure​

We do not sell or rent your data. We share only what is necessary to provide the service:

  • AI Provider (OpenAI API): Receives your prompt text and optionally the image/PDF you select to generate quiz questions. We do not send Google account identifiers or Form responses. Requests are transmitted via HTTPS. We do not permit the provider to use this data to train generalized AI models.
  • License Verification: If you activate a license, the add-on may send the license key to our verification endpoint solely to validate purchasing status. No Google user data or Form content is sent.
  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law.

Data Security​

We use industry-standard security measures:

  • All external requests are made over HTTPS.
  • We minimize the data we handle and avoid server-side storage of Google user data.
  • Secrets you provide (e.g., API key) are stored in Google Apps Script UserProperties, not on our servers.

Your Choices and Controls​

Within the Add-on:

  • You can delete your stored OpenAI API key at any time using the “Delete API Key” button in Settings.
  • You can deactivate your license in the License dialog.
  • You can uninstall the Add-on from Google Forms to revoke access entirely.

Children's Privacy​

The Add-on is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us for deletion.

Changes to This Privacy Policy​

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post updates on this page and update the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Add-on after changes means you accept the updated policy.

Google API Services Compliance​

Our use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We access only the data necessary to insert questions into the currently open Google Form and to render the Add-on UI.

Scope Summary for Transparency​

  • forms.currentonly: Needed to create/update questions in the active Form only; no access to responses.
  • script.container.ui: Needed to display sidebar/modal UI inside Google Forms.
  • script.external_request: Needed to call OpenAI for question generation and to validate licenses; sends only user-provided prompts/files, never Form responses or Google account identifiers.
