Welcome to MagicGPT Quiz Builder for Forms! This guide will help you get started with creating AI-powered quizzes for Google Forms.

What is MagicGPT Quiz Builder for Forms?​

MagicGPT Quiz Builder for Forms is a Google Forms Add-on that uses AI to generate quiz questions. It helps you:

  • Create quizzes from AI prompts in seconds
  • Convert images to quiz questions (photos, worksheets, diagrams)
  • Extract questions from PDF documents (textbooks, study materials)
  • Save hours of manual quiz creation
  • Generate engaging, accurate questions for any topic

Installation​

  1. Open Google Forms (forms.google.com)
  2. Create a new form or open an existing one
  3. Click on the puzzle icon (Add-ons) in the top right
  4. Search for "MagicGPT Quiz Builder for Forms"
  5. Click Install and grant necessary permissions

First Quiz Generation​

Once installed:

  1. Open any Google Form
  2. Go to Add-ons → MagicGPT Quiz Builder for Forms → Generate Quiz
  3. Choose your method:
    • AI Generation: Describe your quiz topic
    • Image Upload: Select an image file
    • PDF Upload: Select a PDF document
  4. Click Generate Quiz
  5. Review the generated questions in your form

What to Expect​

  • AI Generation: 10-30 seconds for most topics
  • Image to Quiz: 15-45 seconds depending on image complexity
  • PDF to Quiz: 30-90 seconds (note: smaller PDFs work best)

After Free Trial​

After using your 3 free trials:

  1. Purchase a lifetime license for $29 (one-time payment)
  2. Get your OpenAI API key:
    • Go to platform.openai.com
    • Sign up or log in
    • Create an API key (it's free)
    • Note: You'll pay OpenAI directly for usage (typically pennies per quiz)
  3. Enter your API key in Settings
  4. Enjoy unlimited quiz generation!

Understanding the Interface​

Main Sidebar​

The main sidebar has three sections:

🤖 Generate with AI

  • Enter a topic or description
  • Example: "Create 5 multiple choice questions about the water cycle for 5th graders"
  • AI generates questions based on your prompt

📸 Generate from Image

  • Click "Choose Image"
  • Select a photo, screenshot, or diagram
  • AI extracts and converts content to quiz questions

📄 Generate from PDF

  • Click "Choose PDF"
  • Select a PDF document (smaller files work best)
  • AI extracts questions from the document

Settings (After License Activation)​

  • OpenAI API Key: Your personal API key
  • Model Selection: Choose GPT-4, GPT-5, etc.
  • Delete API Key: Remove stored key if needed

  • Use clear, high-quality images
  • Ensure text is readable
  • Single-page images work best
  • Photos of worksheets, textbooks, or notes work great

PDF to Quiz​

  • Use smaller PDF files (1-5 pages work best)
  • Ensure PDFs have selectable text (not scanned images)
  • Split large PDFs into smaller sections
  • Clear formatting produces better results

Troubleshooting​

Trial Uses Not Working​

  • Check your internet connection
  • Refresh the Google Form
  • Re-open the add-on

API Key Issues (After Purchase)​

  • Ensure API key is correctly copied (no spaces)
  • Verify API key is active at platform.openai.com
  • Check OpenAI account has sufficient credits

Generation Errors​
