Image to Quiz Conversion

Convert images containing questions, diagrams, or text into interactive Google Forms quiz questions.

How It Works​

  1. Open the MagicGPT Quiz Builder for Forms sidebar
  2. Expand the "📸 Generate from Image" section
  3. Click "Choose Image"
  4. Select an image file from your computer
  5. Click "Generate Quiz"
  6. Wait 15-45 seconds for processing
  7. Review questions added to your form

Image Quality Requirements​

Resolution​

Recommended: 1200x1600 pixels or higher Minimum: 800x600 pixels Text Size: At least 12pt font

Clarity​

✅ Clear, in-focus images ✅ Good lighting (not too dark) ✅ High contrast text ✅ Straight, not skewed

❌ Blurry or out-of-focus ❌ Very dark or overexposed ❌ Low contrast ❌ Severely rotated/skewed

Text Readability​

  • Text should be clearly readable by human eye
  • Avoid very small text (less than 10pt)
  • Ensure good contrast between text and background
  • Minimize shadows or reflections

Best Practices​

Taking Photos​

  1. Use good lighting

    • Natural daylight works best
    • Avoid shadows on the page
    • No glare or reflections

  2. Hold camera steady

    • Use both hands
    • Rest on stable surface if possible
    • Take multiple shots if needed

  3. Frame correctly

    • Fill frame with content
    • Keep edges straight
    • Avoid cutting off text

  4. Check before uploading

    • Zoom in to verify text clarity
    • Retake if blurry
    • Ensure all content is visible

Preparing Digital Images​

Screenshots

  • Take at high resolution
  • Crop to relevant content only
  • Remove unnecessary elements
  • Save in PNG for best quality

Scanned Documents

  • Scan at 300 DPI minimum
  • Use color or grayscale (not black & white)
  • Straighten pages in scanner
  • Clean up any artifacts

Tips for Success​

Single Page at a Time​

  • Upload one page/image at a time for best results
  • Multiple questions per page is fine
  • Avoid uploading multi-page documents as single image

Clear Question Format​

Images work best when questions are clearly formatted:

  • Numbered questions (1, 2, 3...)
  • Clear question marks
  • Distinct answer choices (A, B, C, D)
  • Separated questions (not run together)

Mixed Content​

If image contains both text and diagrams:

  • Ensure diagrams are labeled
  • Connect questions to diagrams clearly
  • Use arrows or numbers to link elements

Pre-Processing​

Consider editing images before upload:

  • Crop to relevant content
  • Adjust brightness/contrast
  • Rotate to straighten
  • Remove watermarks or irrelevant elements

Troubleshooting​

AI Can't Read Text​

Possible causes:

  • Image too blurry
  • Text too small
  • Poor lighting/contrast
  • Skewed/rotated image

Solutions:

  • Retake photo with better lighting
  • Take photo closer to document
  • Use document scanner app
  • Edit image to increase contrast

Questions Not Formatted Correctly​

Possible causes:

  • Unclear question format in image
  • Mixed content (questions and other text)
  • Non-standard layout

Solutions:

  • Crop to questions only
  • Ensure questions are numbered
  • Separate different types of content
  • Upload one question type at a time

Generated Questions Incomplete​

Possible causes:

  • Text cut off in image
  • Multiple pages compressed to one image
  • Too much content in single image

Solutions:

  • Ensure full questions visible
  • Upload one page at a time
  • Split dense content into multiple images

Advanced Tips​

Batch Processing​

For multiple worksheets:

  1. Number/label each worksheet
  2. Photo all worksheets
  3. Upload and generate one at a time
  4. Label generated questions by source
  5. Organize in Google Forms
